17

Sunlight poured in, flooding the room.
Dust floating in the air;
sparkling its reflection of the star's rays
and casting paltry shadows in their wake.
There I waited.
As the sun sank lower in the sky,
kissing the horizon,
I waited.
Your frame blocks the orange glow;
my tiny feet take flight.
Caught up in your arms you swing me 'round.
I greet you, Daddy, my protector.
And God -
You tell me to call You Abba.
My soul waits for You
in sunlight pouring through
the panes of my heart.
Until my tiny feet take flight
into eternal arms.
